Care Guide

Looking after your pieces

A little care keeps your jewellery looking its best. Here's how to wear, store, and clean it well.

Good jewellery is made to be worn, not shut away. With a few simple habits, your pieces will stay bright and keep their shine for years. None of this takes long, and none of it needs special products.

01

Everyday wear

The simplest rule is "last on, first off." Put your jewellery on after perfume, makeup, lotion, and hairspray, and take it off first when you get undressed. Those products are the most common cause of dullness over time.

  • Remove pieces before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
  • Let lotion and perfume dry fully on your skin before putting jewellery on.
  • Wearing your pieces often actually helps — the natural oils in your skin keep them looking bright.
02

Storing it well

How you store your jewellery matters as much as how you wear it. Keep pieces dry, out of direct sunlight, and stored separately so they don't scratch or tangle.

  • Store each piece on its own — the gift box it arrived in is ideal.
  • Keep it somewhere cool and dry; damp air speeds up dullness.
  • An anti-tarnish strip or a silica gel packet in your box helps keep moisture away.
03

Gentle cleaning

Cleaning your jewellery at home is easy and needs nothing fancy. For a quick refresh, wipe each piece gently with a soft, lint-free cloth after wearing.

  • For a deeper clean, use warm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush.
  • Rinse, then pat dry fully with a soft cloth before storing.
  • Use gentle strokes — avoid scrubbing hard, and skip paper towels, which can scratch.
04

What to avoid

A few things shorten the life of any jewellery. Keeping pieces away from these will keep them looking their best for longer.

  • Harsh chemicals — household cleaners, bleach, and chlorinated pool water.
  • Long exposure to moisture, heat, or direct sunlight.
  • Tossing pieces loose into a bag or drawer where they can scratch each other.

A note on tarnish

If silver dulls or darkens over time, that's normal — it's a natural reaction between the metal and the air, not a fault or a sign of poor quality. A gentle clean with a soft cloth brings the shine back. Wearing your pieces regularly and storing them well slows it down.
